careerTinka was formally a dressage mare, ridden across the country at Open level.
Due to a tendon injury, she had to be retired from dressage, but is comfortable enough with pleasure riding and breeding. |
Tinka was bred primarily for three day eventing, but it was soon clear to her breeder that her quiet, pleasing nature would let her down. She didn't have the right attitude for such a fierce sport, so she was sold at a young age to a dressage trainer in the north of England.
Tinka enjoyed a lot of success in the dressage arena; her quiet, patient personality was her star quality and she soon began winning lots of competitions.
Unfortunately, Tinka injured her left foreleg in a freak accident at home when she was 7 years old and ha to be retired from putting serious stress on her leg - doing piaffe and flying changes were out.
After checking that Tinka would be comfortable and okay carrying the extra weight of a foal with her leg injury, Kristina drove 5 hours across the country and immediately fell in love with Tinka's loving nature.
